Obituary

Virginia Lee (Still) Brown, 83, of Maryville, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Nodaway Nursing Home.

Virginia was born on October 12, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri to Gene and Beulah (Crenshaw) Still. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Teresa High School in Decatur, Illinois.

She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family above all.  She was a seamstress and operated Stitches By Request. Virginia loved reading, quilting & sewing, cooking, baking, flowers, ceramics, and cake decorating.

She married David H. Brown, Sr. on March 5, 1960, in Maryville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2016. She was also preceded by her parents, brother, Richard Still, her in-laws, Ira and Edna Brown, brother-in-law, Marvin Brown and granddaughter, April Sharr.

Survivors include her children Christina (Jerry) Sharr, and David H. Brown, Jr.; three grandchildren, Lacy (Jason) Auffert, Jake (Kelsey) Brown and Cactus Brown (Madison); six great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Tibbetts; sister-in-law, Frances Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Many friends including her special Oxford friends Esther Moyer & Phyllis Wiley.

Services will be held at 11am Monday, April 7th at Price Funeral Home. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery in Maryville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Asera Care Hospice or the Parkinson Foundation.
