Vera Jacquelyn Chitwood, 86, St Joseph, MO, died October 27, 2016 at Diversicare Health Center, St. Joseph.

She was born June 1, 1930, in Nebraska City, NE to Otto and Pauline (Chandler) Gust.

In March of 1947, Vera and Bill Heard were married in Maryville, MO. She was next married to Kenneth William Wymore on August 24, 1951. After Kenneth died in 1977, she married Samuel Clay Chitwood on August 1, 1979, in Burlington Junction, MO.

Vera operated the Wymore Grocery in Elmo for 10 years and later worked at the B & B Grocery in Skidmore. She was a member of the Skidmore Christian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands: Kenneth Wymore (1977), Sam Chitwood (1999) and Bill Heard (2003); and daughter Beverly Frijo.

She is survived by four sons: Danny (Barbara) Wymore, Excelsior Springs, MO, Charles (Sharon) Wymore, Farley, MO, Walter (Jacquelyn) Wymore, Weston, MO and Dale (Renee) Wymore, Weston, MO; several grand-children, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Kenneth (Sue) Gust, Zillian, WA, Lowell (Leota) Gust, Kansas City, MO, and Keith (Patsy) Gust, Olathe, KS; three sisters: Ruth Richards, Clarinda, IA, Janice (Gene)Sparks, Tarkio, MO and Joan (Steve) Strange, Cheyenne, WY.

Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2016, Price Funeral Home, Maryville. It will be followed by the Funeral Service at 11 AM. and then burial at the Elmo, MO Cemetery.
