Theodore "Ted" Parker, 92, of St. Joseph, Missouri formerly of Barnard, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

Ted was born on March 9, 1929 in St. Joseph, Missouri to William "Jim" and Gladys (Carter) Parker. He served in the United States Army and was a self-employed carpet and tile installer.

Ted was awarded by the Modern Woodmen of America Home Town Hero for being a businessman. Over the years in Barnard he operated the grocery store, laundry mat, the game room, a small engine repair shop and the local café. He served as the mayor of Barnard for several years and was a member of the American Legion Post 102, American Legion Cemetery Board, the water department and a longtime member of the Sportsman Club.

He married Ruth Ann Compton on November 5, 1965 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2007. He was also preceded by his parents, Jim Parker and Gladys Stewart, one son, Robert Davis; three brothers, Leroy, Edgar and William; three sisters, Betty, Erma and Juanita.

Survivors include his children, Vicki (James) Fenner, Frederick (Gwen) Davis, Jr., William (Judy) Davis, Sandi Livingston and Sharon (Lawrence) Boyle and granddaughter, Heather Deckard who was raised by Ted and Ruth and her husband James; two brothers, Ronnie and Jim; two sisters, Linda and Stella; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Parker has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. Memorial Service 11am Friday, January 7th at Price Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 10:30am Friday.
