Tanis Marie Colwell, 87, of Stanberry, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Mosiac Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Tanis was born on July 9, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lester and Alyce (Deaver) Hunt. She was a 1955 graduate of Horace Mann High School. She was a homemaker, telephone operator and a School Bus Driver for 19 years. She was a member of Patee Park Baptist Church in St. Joseph and enjoyed travelling with her husband.

She married Jackie Lee "Jack" Colwell on March 17, 1956 in Maryville. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2025. She was also preceded by her parents, and a sister, Bonnie Swalley.

Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Farley; grandson, Christopher Farley; two great-grandsons, Brant and Bryden Farley; five sisters, Connie Wilmes, Delores Jackson, Gayla (Bob) Reeves, Carol (David) Middleton and Joy (Barry) Harms.

Services 12 noon Friday, January 24th at Price Funeral Home. Burial Miriam Cemetery, Maryville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorials to the Nebraska Children's Home.
