Sr M. Rosario Martinez, OSB, 88, Clyde, MO, died on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Rickenbach, Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration, Clyde, Missouri.

Petrita Martinez was born January 18, 1929 in Truchas, NM to Manual and Rosarito Vigil Martinez. She graduated from high school and then attended the University of Dallas Monastic Renewal Program.

Petrita Martinez joined the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration on January 29, 1955 and was given the name Sister Rosario Martinez on October 7. She made her First Profession of Vows October 5, 1957 and her Final Profession on October 5, 1962.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Santiago and Adrian Martinez and sistersLucia Chavez, Melinda Armijo and Anita Martinez.

Survivors include her Monastic family and brothers Gilbert and Manual Martinez.

Wake will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 4th at Our Lady of Rickenbach Chapel, Clyde.

Mass of Christian Burial is 8:00 AM Thursday, October 5th, at the Benedictine Convent Chapel of Perpetual Adoration, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde.
