Helen Rosalee Merrigan, 86 of Maryville, Missouri died on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Parkdale Manor Care Center in Maryville.
She was born January 16, 1931 in Clyde, Missouri, the daughter of Michael Louis Stoll and Mary Reardon Stoll.
Rosalee went to St. Benedict's school in Clyde the first 12 years. After graduation she went to St. Mary's College, Leavenworth, KS for a Registered Nurse degree and then trained at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, KS. After graduation she worked for St. Luke's Hospital and then later VA Hospital, both in Kansas City, MO. She later worked at Parkdale Manor and the Maryville Treatment Center.
On July 17, 1954, Rosalee and James Maurice Merrigan were married in Clyde and moved to Maryville, MO. She continued working, at St. Francis Hospital and area nursing homes. She then got her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Northwest Missouri State University. She also taught a nursing class at the Vocational Technical School in Maryville.
Rosalee was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Gregory's Guild, Legion of Mary Rosary, former President of American Cancer Society, RN volunteer for the Red Cross and played an active role in educating many students in receiving their CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) degree.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim Merrigan (April 25, 2009); sister Charlene Schulte and grandson Kyle James.

son Kevin (Nancy) Merrigan, Port Angeles, WA
daughter Denise (Donnie) Drummond, Burlington Junction, MO,
and son Tim Merrigan, Maryville,
Parish Rosary will be 5:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017, at St. Gregory's Barbarigo Catholic Church, followed by a visitation from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 28, 2017 also at the church. Burial will follow in St Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO.
