Richard A. Wilmes, 91, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at the Village Care Center.

Richard was born on February 19, 1933 in Maryville, Missouri to George and Gertrude (Hiatt) Wilmes. He served in the United States Army and has been a lifelong farmer and member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.

Richard married Darlene (Cooper) Wilmes to this union they had eight children.

Survivors include his children, Randall (Jessie) Wilmes, Martin (Sandy) Wilmes, Kelly (Sue) Wilmes, Jeffery Wilmes, Michael (Christal) Wilmes, Gary (Cheryl) Wilmes, Diane (Stan) Chesnut; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Roberta) Wilmes, Charles Wilmes, Phillip (Karen) Wilmes, Thomas (Sharon) Wilmes, Kenneth (Marilyn) Wilmes; sisters, Geraldine(Jack) Ulmer and Pauline Bjournsrud; sisters-in-law, Cecelia Wilmes, Louise O'Connell; Donna Wilmes; Janet Wilmes, brothers-in-law, John Joyce and Paul Spire.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Teri Redford, grandson, Joshua Redford, four brothers, Bernard Wilmes, Alfred (Fran) Wilmes, Joseph Wilmes, Gerald Wilmes, three sisters, Rita (Dean) Stamps, Helen Joyce and Dolores Spire, brother-in-law, Tom O'Connell.

Mass of Christian Burial 11am Friday, January 10th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary 6pm Thursday, January 9th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Mosaic Hospice.
