Phyllis Elaine Ulmer, 84, Hopkins, Missouri, died Friday, April 15, 2016 at SSM Health Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.

Phyllis was born July 17, 1931, in Gravity, Iowa to James Woodford and Inez Ruth (Booze) Melvin.

A 1949 graduate of Hopkins High School, she was a homemaker and cook at North Nodaway School.

She married Homer Galen Ulmer on May 22, 1949, in Pickering, Missouri.

Phyllis was a member of the Hopkins Christian Church.

Preceding in death were her parents and brother Billie Dean Melvin.

Survivors include her husband Homer Galen Ulmer,
daughter Lois Elaine (Norman) Nicholson, Harbine, NE,
son Gary Lee (Nancy) Ulmer, Clarinda, IA,
brother Orville Eugene (Mary) Melvin, Liberty, MO,
sisters:
Evelyn Marie Watts, Boise, ID,
Helen Joyce (John) Marriott, Clearmont, MO,
Norma Lee Wuester, Victoria, BC,
sister-in-law, Beverly Connolly, Enterprise, OR,
five grandchildren:
Jennifer (Brian) Whitaker, Joseph (Angie) Nicholson, Devon Ulmer,
Matthew (Samantha) Ulmer, and Kristin Ulmer,
seven great-grandchildren,
and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 18th from 5:00-7:00 PM, at the Christian Church, Hopkins.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 19th, also at the Christian Church, with burial in Hopkins Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hopkins Christian Church and Hopkins Cemetery Association in Phyllis's name.
