Neva P. (Beattie) Nielson, 88, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Maryville Living Center.

Neva was born on February 24, 1938, in Drakesville, Iowa to Havilla "Bill" and Ruth (Kempf) Smith. She worked for St. Francis Hospital for many years in the House Keeping Department. She was a member of the Barnard Christian Church. Neva enjoyed collecting Cardinals and sitting on her porch swing watching the children play at St. Gregorys.

She married John "J.T." Beattie in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1982. She later married Glenn E. Nielson in 1987. He preceded her in death in 2010. She was also preceded by her parents, son-in-law, Dudley Nave and three sisters, Doris McElroy, Jessie Adams and Bethie Dolman.

She is survived by her children, Diane (John) Richardson, Kathy McNeese (Neil Abbott), and Brenda Nave; six stepchildren; six grandchildren, Travis (Paula) Beattie, Michael (Kandy) Beattie, Donna (Ryan) Joy, Bryan (Jennifer) Nave, Dennis (Rhonda) Richardson, and Erika (Aaron) Flegel; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Roselea) Smith; sister, Mandy (William) Way.

Funeral Services 2pm Saturday, May 30th at Price Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Nodaway Memorial Gardens in Maryville. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, May 29th at the funeral home. In memory of Neva, her family suggests memorials to the New Nodaway Humane Society of Maryville.
