Mildred LaVaun Powers, 94, of Frankston, Texas passed away December 23, 2023 in
Jacksonville, Texas. She was born September 29, 1929 to Millard and Elsie (Black) Logan in
Tarkio, Missouri.

Mildred was a hard worker who spent many years working at the newspaper and TV station, as
well as a secretary in the construction industry. She was an avid reader especially of Nora
Roberts and Patterson-Grisham books, and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Elsie; husband, Louvain Powers; three
brothers and two sisters, Corrine Mitts, Jack Logan, Jim Logan, Marlin Logan, and Marjorie
Goacher.

Left to cherish Mildred's memory are two sons, Richard Powers and wife Sandra of Frankston
and Ronald Powers and wife Robin of Lumberton, Texas; and her grandchildren, Lori, Matthew,
Jeremiah, Joshua, Teena, Patricia and Harold. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren;
four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
