Marjorie Jean (McEnaney) O'Riley, 96, formerly of Fairfax, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Oak Pointe of Maryville.
Marjorie was born near Kelly, Kansas on June 22, 1930, to Mildred Ann (Lackey) and Slyvester John "S.J." McEnaney. The family moved to Westboro, Missouri, and later moved to Tarkio, Missouri where she went to Homer Country School. She then moved to Maryville, Missouri, where she attended St. Mary's Catholic School, graduated from Maryville High School in 1948 and did her post graduate studies at Platt Business School in St. Joseph, Missouri. Upon finishing her studies, Marjorie worked at Cummins Furniture Store in Maryville, Missouri.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Paul Gerald O'Riley of Skidmore, Missouri on June 1, 1949, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They lived in the Skidmore area for two years and then moved to Fairfax area where they made their home farming and raised six children.
Marjorie worked at Fairfax Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri for 33 years as a nurse's aide, and a medical records typist at the hospital and at Dr. James K. Hunter's office. She was a member of 49er's Hobby Club and Sew and Sew Club. She volunteered with the local 4H Club and the Fairfax Community Hospital Gift Shop. She was also a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Tarkio, Missouri.
Marjorie enjoyed going to dances with Paul and dancing the two-step. She was a tireless farm wife keeping the home spotless, helping in the fields, raising Black Angus cattle and hogs, while working outside the home and raising six children. Marjorie enjoyed her family, their activities and school achievements. She was blessed with a large family of six children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul in 2002, and her sons-in-law, Roger Hilsabeck, Dennie Barlow and Reed Smith.
Her survivors include, Daughter, Sharon Kay Barlow, St. Joseph, Missouri; grandson, Jason (Jolie) Riley, St. Joseph, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Georgia Riley and Benjamin Riley.
Daughter, Paula Jean Smith, Maryville, Missouri; grandsons, Eric (Becky) Dunkle, Farragut, Iowa, Clayton Dunkle, Maryville, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Megan Neihart, Ashton Dunkle, Abigail Dunkle, and Mia Dunkle; great-great-grandchildren, Arabella Bradfield, Elric Hiles, and Dedric Hiles.
Daughter, Debbie Sue (Richard) Hawkins, Ozark, Missouri; grandchildren, Garrett (Ashleigh) Hawkins, Ozark, Missouri Zachary (Kerry) Hawkins, Osage Beach, Missouri and Vanessa (Jake) Smouse, Springfield, Missouri; great-grandsons, Sy Rosipal, Ely Hawkins, Evelyn Smouse, and Carter Smouse.
Daughter, Vicky Hilsabeck, Maryville, Missouri; grandchildren, Desarae (Lloyd) Bliley, Conception Junction, Missouri, Malinda (Derrick) Hicks, Ravenwood, Missouri, Jarod (Jessica) Hilsabeck, Hopkins, Missouri, Ty Hilsabeck, Maryville, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Memphis Bliley, Maleeah Bliley, Bristol Hicks, Bentley Hicks, Jaclynn Hilsabeck and Jemma Hilsabeck.
Daughter, Joni Marie (Barry) Amthor, Tarkio, Missouri; grandchildren, Rev. Fr. Bryan Amthor, Kansas City, Missouri and Matthew Amthor, Tarkio, Missouri.
Son, Mark Edward (Pamela) O'Riley, Shawnee, Kansas; granddaughters, Megan (Jace) Champlin, Kansas City, Kansas, Rachael Colleen (Brent) Clifton, Kansas City, Kansas, great-granddaughters, Riley Champlin, McKenzie Champlin, Clary Champlin, Rowan Clifton, and Markie Clifton.
Sister, Norma Spire, Parnell, Missouri; brother, Danny (Sherrie Beth) McEnaney, Conception Junction, Missouri and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Parish Rosary 9am, Thursday, August 6th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family will gather with friends following the rosary from 9:45am to 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church under the care of Price Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maryville. In memory of Marjorie, her family suggests memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or Three Oaks Hospice.
