Margaret Louise Gross Bears, 89 of Maryville, Missouri, passed away, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Village Care Center, Maryville.

Margaret was born April 2, 1927 in Maryville, the daughter of Francis Joseph and Marguerite Gertrude (Bleuel) Gross.

A graduate of Maryville High School, Margaret married Eldon Lee Bears on April 12, 1958 in Maryville. They were later divorced.

She was a homemaker and a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, where she devoted countless hours.

Margaret was preceded in death by her sons: Martin and David Bears; parents; brothers: Bill, Donald, Karl, David and Edmund Gross and sisters: Mildred Peter, Elizabeth Rose and Rita Gross.

Survivors include her children: Jean Reed, Maryville; Bet Gard, Maitland, Missouri; Sue Peve, Hopkins, Missouri; Chris Bears, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mick Bears, Skidmore, Missouri; Ed Bears, Trinidad, Colorado and John Bears, Clearmont, Missouri; brothers: Robert Gross, Maryville; Thomas Gross, Shreveport, Louisiana; Harold Gross, Rancho Cordova, California and sister: Mary Ann Hogsett, Canon City, Colorado; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bears' body has been cremated.

A Memorial Mass will be 10 am Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church with burial in St Mary's Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.
