Karen L. Nicholson, 72, of Ravenwood, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Mosiac Life in Care in St. Joseph.

Karen was born on July 26, 1952 in Maryville, Missouri to Frank S. and Lettie L. (Joyner) Scott. She was a graduate of Maryville R-II High School and had attended Northwest Missouri State University. For 42 years Karen served the residents of Parkdale Manor as their social worker, until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenwood and enjoyed collecting Bears, Dishes, Thimbles and Toy John Deere Tractors.

She married Kirk S. Nicholson on May 16, 1971 in Maryville, Missouri. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include their son, Chris Nicholson, Savannah, Missouri; brother, Roger (Barb) Scott, Albuquerque, New Mexico; step-sister, Jane (Donnis) Allen, Maryville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Beth Roush, Louisville, Kentucky; niece, Sarah Scott, Seattle, Washington, and  nephew, Ben Scott, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Donald Schultz.

Services 10am Monday, August 12th at Price Funeral Home. Burial Hopkins Cemetery, Hopkins, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, August 11th at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Parkdale Manor, 814 W. South Avenue, Maryville, Missouri 64468.
