Joyce Kay Wilmes, 70, Maryville, MO, died Saturday, February 18, 2017, at her home in Maryville, Missouri.

She was born September 4, 1946 in Junction City, Kansas, to Wesley Carroll Roper and Gladys Leona Luckenbaugh Roper.

Joyce was a graduate of Plattsburg, MO High School. On April 24, 1982 she married Earl Edward Wilmes in Buffalo, Missouri.

A member of the Laura Street Baptist Church, Joyce was a volunteer with SSM Hospice and also drove for the Division of Aging. She was always involved with and loved all of her grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Lee Roper.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Wilmes, children, Stacy Wilmes, Conception Junction, MO, Carissa (Mike) Davis, Maryville, and Eric (Jessie) Herrod, Savannah, MO, 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and cousin, Roger Lee Schwab, Manhattan, KS.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday, February 22nd, at Laura Street Baptist Church

Joyce will be buried at the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Missouri.
