John Walter Beggs

John Walter (Jay) Beggs was born October 4, 1955, in Maryville, MO, to Quinton and Wanda (Paxton) Beggs. He passed away July 23, 2020, at Sunset Home, Maysville, MO.

Jay was a 1973 graduate of Maryville High School and a 1977 graduate of Nebraska Christian College. He had served as pastor in several Northwest Missouri Christian Churches.

He is survived by three sons, Michael (Leslie) Beggs, Colorado Springs, CO, Leslie Smille, Los Angeles, CA, and Jeffrey Beggs, Gaithersburg, MD, two grandchildren, Connor Beggs and Lyric Smille, one brother, Don Beggs (Charles Livers), Kansas City, MO, two sisters, Patricia (Michael) Bare, Maryville, and Sue Fetters, Carlisle, IA, and many friends and relatives.

Jay's cremains will be buried alongside his parents' graves at Nodaway Memorial Gardens and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials in his name may be made to mental health organizations.
