Jo Ann Sturm, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. Lukes South Hospital.

Jo Ann was born on January 19, 1944 in Maryville, Missouri to Robert N. and Mary K. (Brady) Sturm. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Conception Jct., Missouri. She continued her education at Avila College and graduated with her degree in education. She taught 40 years and then retired. She spent many remaining years volunteering at St. Joseph Hospital.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jerald Sturm and Ronald Sturm.

Survivors include two brothers, Pat (Carolyn) Sturm and Robert Sturm and several nieces and nephews, Renae Sturm, Maryville, Kim (Andy) Welch, Sheridan, Robbie (Dannielle) Sturm, Conception Jct., Christopher (Ryan) Sturm, Rosenberg, Texas, Alyssa (Alex) Mathieu, Commerce City, Colorado; great-nieces and nephews, Kyle Welch, Jerry (Elaina) Welch, Tate Welch, Drew Welch, Sheridan, Missouri, Jayden Sturm, Alexis Sturm, Grace Sturm, Conception Jct.; great-great niece and nephew, Emersynn Welch and Jerry Welch, Sheridan.

Ms. Sturm has been cremated. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Monday, November 27th at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Jct., Missouri under the care of Price Funeral Home. Burial St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri. Rosary 6pm Sunday, November 26th at St. Columba Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8pm.

The family suggests memorials to the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or Harvesters Food Bank.
