Obituary

Jeff Davis, 55, of Stanberry, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Mosaic Medical Center in Albany, Missouri.

Jeff was born on May 29, 1970, at Camp Pendleton, California to Mary E. (Duke) and Robert E. Davis. He was a 1989 graduate of South Nodaway High School and received a criminal justice degree from Vatterott College. Jeff served in the United States Marie Corps at Camp Pendleton California. He worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections at the Maryville Treatment Center. He attended the First Baptist Church in Stanberry and was a member of the American Legion Post #464 and was a volunteer with the Barnard Fire Department.

Jeff enjoyed hunting and fishing, attending sporting events, and spending time with his family, which meant the most to him. He was a great cook, always full of smiles, jokes, and had an infectious laugh. He loves cooking for friends and family. Jeff supported South Nodaway athletes every chance he got. He watched STL Cardinals, KC Chiefs and NWMSU Bearcats.

Jeff is survived by his fiancé, Melissa Hibbs; his mother, Mary Harper; sister, Robin Dredge; two sons, Nathan and Carson Taylor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Susan Hibbs; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clint and Heather Hibbs; nieces and nephews, Erin Dredge (Nick Fuston), Hadley and Cayleigh Hibbs, Mason Dredge (Maggie Calfee) and Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Davis and step-father, Marvin Harper.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Friday, December 19th at Stanberry Baptist Church. Burial Barnard American Legion Cemetery, Barnard, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, December 18th at Stanberry Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund is being established in Jeff's memory to support Nathan's education. Donations made in Jeff's honor will help carry forward his legacy of love, generosity, and commitment to family. Checks may be made payable to: Melissa Hibbs, in care of memorial scholarship fund.

Services wear one of his teams colors. Jeff was a simple man and would want everyone to be comfortable.
