Maryville, Missouri - Jason T. Barbosa, 90, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Jason was born on August 17, 1933 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Mauricio and Frances Pachita (Cruz) Barbosa. He was a 1951 graduate of Christian Brothers High School in St. Joseph and served in the United States Army.

Over his life he was a hair stylist, owning salons in St. Joseph, Missouri and later in Maryville, Missouri. He enjoyed his work and his clients so much, he didn't fully retire until 2017.

He was an active member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church and involved with the church's music program and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Teri Rittermeyer, brothers E.C. (Pelen) Barbosa, Merced Barbosa, Rico Barbosa, sisters Lupe Cathcart, Christina Torres, Mary Helen White, Bernie Ceglinski and Ruth "Cuca" Curtain.

Survivors include three daughters, Toni Curtis, Platte City, Missouri, Nancy "Skippi" Warren, Smithville, Missouri, Marissa (Steve) Willis, Blue Springs, Missouri; two brothers, Faustino Barbosa, Jesse (Wanda) Barbosa and sister, Julia Burris all of St. Joseph, Missouri; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday, November 18th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Graveside services 2pm Saturday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Parish Rosary 5pm Friday, November 17th at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
