Hugh Hendrix Mires, 96, passed away April 24, 2016 in Rogers, Arkansas.
Hugh was born December 12, 1919, in Burlington Jct., Mo., to William and Viola Hughs Mires. He graduated from Maryville High School in 1937. He served in the Army Air Corps in China during World War II. He married Doris Jean Linthicum near Ravenwood, Mo., on July 5, 1950.

Hugh and Doris Jean farmed and raised their family near Maryville, Mo. Hugh served as deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Bible study leader at Laura Street Baptist Church. His greatest desire was for his children to have a happy childhood.

Hugh was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jean (1995); two sons, Jerry (1963) and John (2015); son-in-law Albert Hoecker; brothers Homer, Elmer, and William; and sisters Beulah Barton, Rosella Trimble and Celia Schimming.

He is survived by his children: Mary Jane Hoecker, Albuquerque, N.M.; David (Cindy) Mires, Maryville; Robert (Jeannette) Mires, Rogers, Ark.; Paula (Larry) Haataja, Maryville; Tammy (Phil) O'Donnell, Omaha; and Susan Mires, St. Joseph. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 28th, at Laura Street Baptist Church, with burial following in Miriam Cemetery, Maryville
Military Services will be provided at graveside by James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100 and Missouri Military Honors.
