Herbert Andrews
1932-2017

Herbert Doyle Andrews, 84, Maryville, MO, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was born June 25, 1932, in Blanchard, IA, to Earl B. Andrews and Velma Calfee Andrews in Blanchard, IA, Herbert married Patsy Ann Bair, and they had three daughters, Connie Andrews (Miller), Carol Andrews (Hemsath), and Carla Andrews (Martin) .(Deceased 2011)

Herbert went to school in Blanchard. As a young boy through retirement Herbert drove many trucks hauling livestock all over the country. He owned a trucking company, Andrews Griffith Truckline in his earlier years. Later years he became a dispatcher for Speedway Transportation, with his office in St. Joseph, MO. Herbert married Thelma Griffith in 1964 and they had one daughter Norma Gail Andrews (deceased 1965).

Herbert loved hunting, fishing, and feeding the fish in Kurt's pond. Horses have also been a big part of his life.

Herbert was preceded death by his parents; 3 brothers, Robert, Hubert, and Kenneth Leon Andrews; sister Austa Vae Souden; 2 daughters, Carla Martin and Norma Gail Andrews.

Surviving Herb are his daughters: Connie Andrews Miller, Clarinda, IA, Carol Andrews Hemsath, Maryville, and son Kevin Griffith, Kansas City, MO; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Peggy Andrews, Kilgore, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. It will be followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow at the Lamar Cemetery, Elmo, MO.
