Helen was born August 18, 1920, in Maryville, Missouri to Herman C and Anna Marie (Brandt) Seipel.

Helen was a homemaker and managed the family farm until her death.

She married Fred Owens on November 7, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri.

Preceding in death were her husband Fred (July 15, 1989), her parents, and daughter Helen Morast (December, 1996).

Survivors include her daughters: Shirley (Ron) Peters, Maryville and Becky (Jim) Snyder, Highlands Ranch, Colorado; a brother: Paul Seipel, Maryville
grandchildren: Jon and Amy Peters, Quitman, Missouri; Joseph Peters, Maryville; Carol Morast Overland Park, Kansas; and Karen and Mike Harrison, Prairie Village, Kansas; five great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 6:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville.

Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 27, 2016, at Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Helen 's name.
