Helen Ruth Gorsuch
1920-2016

Helen Ruth Gorsuch, 95, Maryville, MO, died Monday, June 6, 2016.

Helen was born August 17, 1920, in rural Guilford, Missouri to Wallace Patrick and Katherine Margaret (Farnan) Gorsuch.

She was a 1938 graduate of Guilford High School and received a 2 year teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville. She then received her Masters in Guidance and Counseling from UMKC in 1960.

Helen was a member of St. Gregory's Barbarigo Catholic Church. She was a teacher for 17 years, teaching at Plum Grove School, Bolckow, New Point and Skidmore. She was then the high school counselor for 28 years with the Maryville R-II School District.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents; brothers: Paul, Donald , Patrick and John Gorsuch; sisters: Anna Gorsuch, Sarah Gorsuch, Katherine Curnutt and Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Gorsuch.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held at 5:30 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, followed by a visitation from 6:00- 8:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 9, 2016, also at the Church. Following the Mass she will be cremated and buried at a later date at St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO.
