Gene Douglas "Doug" Riley, 64, Maryville, MO died Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville.

Doug was born June 3, 1952 in Keytesville, MO, to Charles Richard and Betty Bruner Riley. They preceded him in death.

A graduate of Parkview High School in Springfield, MO he then continued his education, graduating in 1970, with a BA in Art, from Missouri State University, Springfield.

After graduation Doug moved to New York City, where he resided for many years. While there he always was an artist, who also ventured into the business world, working for Gentleman's Quarterly, and as the Manager of Common Ground, a jewelry store in New York City. He had resided in Maryville the past few years.

Doug is survived by his brother Larry Riley, Maryville; step-mother June Riley Higgins, Springfield; step-brothers Rick (Debbie)Barnhouse, Eagle Rock, MO; Jeff (Rhonda) Barnhouse, Greenfield, MO; step-sister Dagny (Mike) Ogle, Springfield, MO; aunt Vivian Delapp, Kansas City, several cousins and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Monday February 20, 2017, at McCullough Cemetery, Triplett, MO.
