Floyd Hook, 82, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Village Care Center.

Floyd was born on March 10, 1944, in Aplington, Iowa to Raymond and Tilda (Geerdes) Hook. He was a 1962 graduate of Aplington High School and was trained as an X-Ray Technician in Waterloo, Iowa, later working in Waverly, Iowa and moving to Maryville, Missouri in 1966, where he joined St. Francis Hospital as the Department Head of Radiology for 40 years, retiring in 2006.

Floyd was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing with friends, Northwest Football, the Kansas City Chiefs and Boston Celtics.

He married Frances Rops on August 5, 1964, in Aplington, Iowa. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include their daughter, Amy Hook (Ken Callahan), Ken's children, Madison Callahan (Grant Hopkins), Tristan Callahan and Courtlyn Hopkins; sister-in-law, Elaine Hook; brother-in-law, Dennis (Rhonda) Rops; sister-in-law, Jeanette Rops and numerous nieces and nephews.

Floyd was preceded by his parents, brother, Sherman Hook, sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie (LeRoy) Koopman, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Valda (Arlo) Dougan, Marvin (Verla) Rops, Betty (Don) Harken, JoAnn (Gene) Beving, Mary ( Junior) Ascher, LaDonna Rops, niece, Tresa Rops and nephew, Allen Sword.

Cremation Care has been arranged with Price Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 25th from 11am to 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall located in the church basement. In memory of Floyd, his family suggests memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church of Maryville.
