Edith G. Chitwood
1936 – 2019

Edith G. "Ebie" Chitwood, 82, of Clearmont, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home.

Edith was born on November 13, 1936 in Haymarket, Virginia to William A. and Ollie S. (Judd) Baker. She graduated from high school in Manassas, Virginia and was a secretary for the Department of Navy. She was a member of the Clearmont Baptist Church and Elmo Christian Church, where she was the church pianist. She was also a member of the Women Aglow.

She married Kenneth R. Chitwood on March 9, 1957 in Manassas, Virginia. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2018. She was also preceded by her parents, one brother, Floyd Baker and a great-great-granddaughter, Chrisley Nicole.

Survivors include her children, Debby (Terry) Major, Texarkana, Texas, Donna (James) Whitaker, Burlington Junction, Missouri, David (Jean) Chitwood, Ravenwood, Missouri, Daniel (Cheryl) Chitwood, Burlington Junction, Missouri and Dennis Chitwood, Burlington Junction, Missouri; sister, Alice Counts, Manassas, Virginia and brother Enoch (Ruth) Baker, Upper Marlboro County, Maryland; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services 2pm Saturday at the Clearmont Baptist Church, Clearmont, Missouri under the care of Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearmont, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday evening at the church. The family suggests memorials in care of the funeral home.
