1940~2017

Dale Eugene Mathes, 77 of Maryville, Missouri died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Maryville Living Center.

He was born March 17, 1940 in Shenandoah, Iowa and he married Glenna Yates in Red Oak, Iowa on December 30, 1961.

He was a 1958 graduate of Shenandoah High School and attended Iowa Western (Associates Degree) and NWMSU. He was employed by, and retired from, St. Joseph Light and Power in 2001 after 31 years of employment.

Dale served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, Maryville.

His memberships include the Maryville Jaycees,
Elks Club, (Past Exalted Ruler Lodge #760, one term),
James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100,
a Volunteer Fireman, 15 Years with Maryville Public Safety (Captain for 6 years), Maryville City Council 12 years and Mayor of Maryville for 3 Terms.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother Treva Mathes.

Surviving are three children: Scott Mathes, Garden City, MO, Calvin (Angela) Mathes and Holly (Alan) Wilmes, both of Kearney, MO.,
Six Grandchildren: Hagen, Alec, and Heath Wilmes, Ethan, Aiden and Chase Mathes.

Funeral Services will be10:30 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, with a visitation to be held 5-7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by James Edward Gary American Leion Post #100.
