Coletta Marie Seipel Merrigan, 95, November 19, 2023.

Born May 28, 1928 in Nodaway County, Skidmore, MO. The daughter of Henry C. and Agatha C. (Henggeler) Seipel. Married James Robert Merrigan on April 20, 1950 in St. Mary's Church, Maryville, MO.

She graduated from Maryville High School in 1946 and attended Mount Saint Scholastic College in Atchison, KS and Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville, MO. Prior to her marriage, Coletta taught in a rural, one-room school (La Belle) in Nodaway County.

After their seven children were raised Coletta worked for several years in the Altar Bread department at the Benedictine Convent in Clyde, MO. She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society, the Clyde Community Club, a charter member of the Tri-C Legion Auxiliary Unit 464, and served for many years on the Tri-C Housing Board.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 10, 2007. Also preceding her in death, her parents; three brothers, Charles Henry, Roy and Norbert Seipel, and two sisters, Sr. Catherine O.S.F. and Thelma Tritt.

Survivors include her brother Hubert Seipel of Maryville and three sons: James Patrick (Donna) Merrigan, Conception Jct., MO; Robert Gerard (Molly) Merrigan, Kansas City, MO; Phillip Eugene (Caroline) Merrigan, St. Joseph, MO. Also four daughters surviving: Mary Ellen Merrigan (Harris Goodwin) Albuquerque, NM; Gerianne Merrigan (Walter Kornichuck), San Francisco, CA; Sally (Dan) Davenport, Lexington, KY; and Jennifer (Sam) Hampton, Kansas City, MO. There are eleven grandchildren, four great grand-daughters, and one great grandson.

Following the death of her husband, Coletta moved to Maryville in 2008 and was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church where Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10AM Saturday, November 25th followed by Graveside Services at 1PM at St. Columba's Cemetery at Conception, MO. Rosary 6PM Friday, November 24th at St Gregory Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8PM.
