Christine Punzo
1924 - 2017

Christine Kaufman Donan Punzo passed from this life on August 10, 2017. Mrs. Punzo was born to Vern and Ada Kaufman in Graham on March 15, 1924. She was educated in Graham, graduating from high school in 1941.

She married Harold A. Donan in 1941, and their union produced five children. The Donans were divorced in 1961, and in 1965 Christine was remarried to Paul Punzo. That marriage also ended in divorce.

She retired from Western Tablet in St. Joseph where she demonstrated a dedicated work ethic.

Christine was a member of Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville, MO. She raised her children as a good example of devotion and generosity. Throughout her life she served her churches in many capacities. She donated to many causes. She particularly felt compelled to support literacy in first peoples. She had numerous talents with crafts and creative writing, but her lifelong companion was reading and the search for knowledge. In later years she enjoyed listening to audio books from the National Library program. Receiving letters from her distant cousins was a special joy.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, 4 children: Robert A. Donan, Linda J. Donan, Deborah A. Bohnsack and Shirley June Donan. She will be deeply missed by those that survive her; her daughter Angela (Peter) Bullock and daughter-in-law Juanita Donan; grandchildren: Daniel Donan, Jeanette (Kurt) Westfall, Mariann (David) Landis, Gordon Donan and Guinnivere Bohnsack; great-grandchildren: Rhys Donan, Matthew Westfall, Michael Westfall and Forrest Waddell; great-great-grandchild Aria Westfall.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, August 28, 2017, at Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, MO.
