Obituary

Carmen Edelle (Smith) Moore was born 9 September 1930 in Sheridan Missouri. Carmen was the sixth of seven children born to Samuel Bertie Smith and Retha Clutter.

Her early school years were spent in the Guilford area. Carmen was an excellent student but decided to skip graduation and join in Holy Matrimony with Francis Marcellus Moore on 17 December 1947. Years later she feared she was setting a bad example for her grandchildren. This prompted her to take the GED which she passed with high marks.

The family grew when Carmen and Francis became the parents of Dianne, Danny and Donald. Family was everything to Carmen. She dedicated her life to caring for her family. She often spoke of her growing family with pride and love. Once you were a part of the family, even through marriage, you were family forever.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, in-laws, husband, daughter Dianne, grandson Jeff and great grandson Gage.

Carmen is survived by her sons Danny (Rita) and Donald (Teresa). Grandchildren Kristie (Randy), Cammie (Rusty), Mike, Linda (Matt), and Stacey (Jamie). Bonus Grandchildren Nick, Rick, Gregory, Shelby (Garrett), 15 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews and dear friend Dollie who became her sister-in-law

Carmen was a dedicated farm wife. She loved to watch birds and all the animals on the farm. She spent hours tending her beautiful flower garden. Carmen worked tirelessly keeping, home, yard, children and garden tended. Yet she always had time to sit down and play games with the grandchildren, creating priceless memories.

Carmen's love of family was not just for the living. Genealogy and family history was a labor of love for many years. She wrote letters, searched old records and created family history books to keep the past alive.

Mrs. Moore has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10am Friday, January 12th at High Prairie Cemetery in Elmo, Missouri.
