Carl "Butch" Shipley, 73, of Kearney, Missouri passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the St. Lukes Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.

Butch was born on November 7, 1950 in Quitman, Missouri to Merle and Ella Mae (Kerns) Shipley. He worked in Laclede Chain until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion in Kearney, Missouri and enjoyed his old cars and antiquing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Debbie Major and brother, Bobby Shipley.

Survivors include two sons, Matt (Vanessa) Shipley and Troy (Lacy) Shipley; brother, Billy Shipley (Aida Sanchez), two sisters, Donna (Mike) Stegall and Lora Lee (Roger) Whitaker; brother-in-law, David Major; sister-in-law, Carol Shipley; grandchildren, Mason Shipley, Malie Shipley, Myles Shipley, Mariah Shipley and Ella Shipley.

Mr. Shipley has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday, February 3rd at the First Christian Church in Burlington Junction.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Elmo Betterment Club.
