Dixie E. Hasty, 91, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Oak Pointe of Maryville.

Dixie was born on May 4, 1927 in Darlington, Missouri to George A. and Mary E. (Kelley) Murray. She was a graduate of Warrensburg High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University. Dixie worked for Northwest Missouri State University in the business office and the text book service office. She was an avid reader and volunteer with the American Red Cross and was lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Maryville.

She married Charles A. “Pat” Hasty on December 25, 1946 in Darlington, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2001. She was also preceded by her parents, grandson, Noah Nelson and her brother, Truman K. Murray.

Survivors include her children Debra Nelson, Gravois Mills, Missouri and Michael (Teressa) Hasty, Titusville, Florida; three grandchildren, Melissa (Kevin) Winklepleck, Andrew (Christina) Hasty and Adam Nelson and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Julia Murray, Kansas City, Missouri.

Mrs. Hasty has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorials be made to the Maryville Public Library.

Service Information

Mrs. Hasty has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Florida. There will be no visitation held at Price Funeral Home.
