Alice Theresa Barmann

Maryville, Missouri - Alice Theresa Barmann, 88, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Maryville Living Center after a long illness.

Alice was born on October 3, 1930 in Clyde, Missouri to Joseph and Gertrude (Sullivan) Farnan.
She was a graduate of St. Benedict High School in Clyde, Missouri and had worked for Wagoner Freightline, Ladd Motors, Nodaway County Clerk office and Polk Township Collector office. She was a member of St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, St. Therese’s Circle, St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, Charter member of Young Economists and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Alice volunteered at St Gregory's Church as a money counter for twenty-five years.

She married Robert J. “Tug” Barmann on November 9, 1957 in Clyde, Missouri. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include their children, Kevin (Donna) and Tim (Sandy) Barmann of Maryville, Missouri, Steve Barmann of Conception Jct., Missouri, Rob (Camellia) Barmann of Platte City, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Tara (Jesse) LeMar, Jessica (Cody) Welch and Joshua Barmann of Maryville, Missouri, Eric Barmann of Columbia, Missouri, Jason (Katie) Barmann of Prairie Village, Kansas, Jill Barmann, Jeremy Barmann and Matthew Barmann of Kansas City, Missouri and Janessa Barmann of Platte City, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Brayden Olson, Jack Ezzell, Kyle Welch and Bennett Barmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen Farnan of Cameron, Missouri and Bea Farnan of Denver, Colorado, Bernard (Bee) Barmann of Bakersfield, California, Mary Jane Wynne of Terre Haute, Indiana, Mary Ann Downey of Plattsburg, Missouri, Fr. Karl Barmann, OSB of Springfield, Missouri, Sr. Rose Ann Barmann, OSB of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Joe (Cathy) Barmann of Maryville, Missouri, Regina (Steve) Paschold of Firth, Nebraska, and Mike (Mary Jo) Barmann of Maryville, Missouri.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Irvin, Wilford, Robert “Doris”, John and Maurice Farnan, one sister, Mary Ann Reeves, two sisters-in-law, Edna Farnan and Alice Farnan and three brothers-in-law, Albert Reeves, Jim Wynne and Richard Barmann.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Tuesday, September 17th at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church under the care of Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri. Rosary 5:30 pm Monday, September 16th at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the rosary until 8 pm.
