Why pre-arrange?

Funerals are shaped by family wants, just like a wedding, anniversary or birthday. A lot of thought and care is involved in planning those family events — so does it not make sense to plan a funeral event too?

Final wishes are guaranteed when time is spent making funeral arrangements in advance. All personal wishes will be handled to the best of our ability, and these decisions can be shared with family.

Pre-arrangement provides peace of mind and can help ease the emotional burden of the family at one of the most stressful times in their life. Pre-arranging allows questions to be asked of Price Funeral Home in order to be aware of the many options and services available.

Choosing pre-payment protects against price increase. It eases worry, knowing that the financial burden will not fall upon the family.

There are many other different reasons for pre-arranging a funeral, as well. There are as many explanations for pre-arranging funerals as there are people requesting them. Some people, especially those who are alone in the world, may want the assurance of a funeral and burial, which meets their personal beliefs, standards or life-style. Others feel a responsibility to assist survivors by arranging approximate funeral and burial cost guidelines. Still others have moved to distant places, or maintain both summer and winter residences. They may want to make sure that certain recommendations are heeded as to where the funeral and burial or other final disposition will take place.

Personal Choice

  • Choose the type of service wanted, right down to the smallest detail, which provides an opportunity to indicate one's wishes in writing.
  • Assurance that the funeral will be consistent with one's lifestyle and individual standards.

Peace of Mind

  • Making these decisions in advance brings peace of mind to oneself and loved ones.
  • Knowing that the arrangements are complete and costs will not burden the family.

Children, Grandchild, Great-grandchildren Pre-need Protection Coverage

  • If during the lifetime of the Pre-need Purchaser, any child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of the Pre-need Purchaser should die and is unmarried as well as over the age of one day and under the age of 21 at the time of death, then National Prearranged Services, Inc., as part of its obligation to deliver the funeral goods and services described in the Pre-arranged Funeral Agreement, agrees to include, as a part of the frozen and discounted price of said service, a funeral service of like quality and kind for such child, grandchild or great-grandchild of the Pre-need Purchaser provided:

    • This Pre-arranged Funeral Agreement has been paid in full or, if an extended deposit plan is elected, all deposits are current and not more than 60 days delinquent.

      and

    • Such child, grandchild, or great-grandchild was in good health as of the date of delivery of the Pre-arranged Funeral Agreement within 30 days of the death of such child, grandchild, or great-grandchild.

Aside from these specific reasons for discussing funeral arrangements in advance of need, there is an additional benefit. Completing a pre-need allows one to review and evaluate current funeral costs, funeral ceremonies and alternate funeral and burial procedures. Thus, counseling with Price Funeral Home could well be a significant educational experience.

How do we begin?

Before prescribing a definite kind of funeral or type of final disposition, it is always wise to consider and consult those survivors who will be most affected by the death. Grant them the opportunity to be active planning participants, not just passive spectators. This is prudent because when death comes it may have strong emotional impact upon the other members of the family. Permitting them to assist in making funeral and burial arrangements could serve as a healthy outlet for their grief and anxiety. Giving them privilege of performing a last act of recognition, honor, and respect for the deceased will dramatize eloquently to all the reality that a life has been lived.

Price Funeral Home has pre-arrangement forms to complete any and/or all of your wishes. Together, you and Price Funeral Home can discuss all necessary details. Once the pre-arrangement is completed, notify some responsible person or persons that such an agreement exists and where it may be found. If desired, Price Funeral Home can supply additional copies for informational purposes.

We offer a booklet called "Helping Us Help You" that is available at any time. The booklet is extremely helpful in pre-planning. If more information is desired about pre-planning a funeral, please stop by or call to set up an appointment with any of our pre-need counselors.
