Teresa Catherine (Lesch) Farnan, 92, Maryville, Missouri died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Village Care Center, Maryville.
Teresa was born September 7, 1919 in Westphalia, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Rosalia (Habiger) Lesch. She was a resident of Northwest Missouri most of her life.
Teresa attended St Joseph’s Academy, Clyde, Missouri from 1926-1934. She graduated from St. Benedict Catholic High School, Clyde, Missouri in 1936 and from Spaulding Business School, Kansas City, Missouri in 1937.
Lawrence A. Farnan and Teresa C. Lesch were married on August 4, 1937 in Clyde, Missouri. Primarily a homemaker, Teresa was employed by the US Postal Service in Clyde approximately ten years. She was a cook in a nursing home and at the Retreat Center in Conception, Missouri. She also did homemaker and personal care services for senior citizens.
Teresa was a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, Maryville, the Pioneer Club and Excelsior Club. She was an avid gardener, an accomplished cook and seamstress. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and she was a very competitive card player.
Preceding her in death were her husband: Lawrence, on May 17, 1987; a son: Francis J “Frank” Farnan; a daughter: Patricia E. “Pat” Redden, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include her children: Lawrence A Farnan, JR, Arlington, Texas; Rose E. Merchant, Kansas City, Kansas; Sharon A. Judy, Branford, Florida and Ronald E. Farnan, Lindsey, Oklahoma; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Farnan’s body has been cremated.
Visitation will be from 10-11 am on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church in Maryville with a Memorial Mass celebrated at 11 am.
Inurnment will be in St Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri at a later time.
