Clyde Dean Beattie, 80, Barnard, Missouri, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.

Clyde was born, April 8, 1932, in Barnard, son of the late Clyde Avery and Bertha Ellen (Nelson) Beattie.

He was a graduate of Barnard High School, class of 1950. Clyde was a farmer and a retired Insurance agent with Farmers Mutual Insurance for 35 years.

He married Marcia Jean (Skeed), October 11, 1954 in Clearmont, Missouri.

He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Clyde was a member of the First Baptist Church, Maryville; the O'Howell Strader American Legion Post #102, Barnard, and Eagles Lodge, Maryville.

He was preceded in death one brother, John Thomas Beattie.

Survivors include: wife Marcia Beattie, of the home, Jayne (Roger) Vest, Maryville, Wayne (Rhonda) Beattie, Janet (Bryan) Hilsabeck, both of Barnard, Joanne (Jeff) Rinne, Independence, Kansas, 9 grandchildren, Mickey and Haleigh Vest, Laura, Lisa and Layne Beattie, Makayla and Mitchell Hilsabeck, Alexis and Trevor Rinne; 3 brothers Donald (Lee) Beattie, Nora Springs, Iowa, Marlyn (Donna) Beattie, Marshall, Missouri, Ronald (Gayle) Beattie, Graham, Missouri; sister Mary Lou Short, Edwardsville, Kansas; sister-in-law Neva Beattie Nielson, Maryville.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 1, 6-8 PM, at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Barnard American Legion Cemetery, Barnard.

Memorials: American Cancer Society (Nodaway County) or SSM Hospice.

Located approximately 45 minutes North of St. Joseph, Missouri, via Interstate 29 North to US 71 North (Exit 56A), Price Funeral Home is located at the corner of First and Market in Maryville, Missouri.

Coming from the South: Stay on US 71 North (1st stop light) to the intersection of MO 46 & US 71/136 Highways (2nd Stop Light). At the light turn left onto MO 46 West, continue going straight West 14 blocks. Turn left on Market, and the funeral home parking lots (upper and lower levels) are to the left.

Coming from the North: Stay on US 71/136 South (1st stop light) to the intersection of MO 46/US136. Merge right onto MO 46 West, continue straight on First Street traveling 14 blocks to Market (turn left), and the parking lots are on the east side of Market Street.

Coming from the East: Stay on MO46/US136 West (1st stop light), continue straight on First Street to the intersection of Market Street. Turn left and the parking lots are on the left.

Coming from the West: Stay on MO46 East (First Street), continue on through 1st stop light (First and Main), go one block East, turn right on Market, and parking is on the left.
