Robert M. Black, 92, Burlington Junction, Missouri, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.
Robert was born October 21, 1919, in Burlington Junction, Missouri to Coral E. and Orpha Alma Race Black.
He was a 1937 graduate of the Elmo High School, and a Texas College Technological College-Aviation Cadet.
He married Jane Rogers October 21, 1939, in Tarkio, Missouri.
He served as a S/Sgt in the United States 8th Air Force based in England and flew 27 missions over Germany and was a member of the 305th Bomb Group.
Robert was a US mail carrier for 30 years and farmed.
Robert was a member of the Rolla Dicks American Legion Post #315 for over 60 years, a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the United Methodist Church all of Burlington Junction, Missouri.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents and son Lauren Charles Black.
Survivors include his wife Jane Black of their home and daughter Leah Rae Miller, Maryville, MO.
A visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 PM Monday, June11, 2012, at the Burlington Junction United Methodist Church followed by a Masonic Service.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 12, at the Burlington Junction United Methodist Church with burial following in Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction. Military Honors will be provided by the Rolla Dick American Legion Post #315 assisted by the Missouri Military Honors Program.
