Richard James “Dick” Runde, 79, of Ravenwood, Missouri passed away, September 14, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St Joseph, Missouri. 

He was born March 17, 1932 in  Stanberry, Missouri, the son of John H. and Matilda (Ginther) Runde. 

Dick served in the Air Force from 1951 – 1955.  He married Betty Jean Schmitz on June 11, 1955 at the Basilica in Conception, Missouri.  They resided on a farm east of Ravenwood.  He was a lifelong farmer and operated his own dozing business.  Upon retirement, they enjoyed their vacation home at Rockaway Beach, Missouri. 

Dick was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, Parnell, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Curry Richardson Sparks Waldeier American Legion Post #528.

Dick was preceded in death by his son: David James Runde his parents and brothers: Leo Runde and Jack Runde.  

He is survived by his wife: Betty Runde, of their home; sons: Kenneth (Terry) Runde, Parnell; Doug (Vonda) Runde, Ravenwood; and daughters: Karen (Steve) Luke, Becky (Jim) Luke and Lynn (Gene) Noble, all of Stanberry; daughter-in-law: Mitzi (Don) Broermann, Jefferson City,; brothers: Walter “Pete” (Joan) Runde, Liberty; Bernard Runde, Parnell; sisters: Teresa Price and Monica (Kenny) Clayton, both of Maryville; Sally Davison, Lenox, Iowa; Rita Andriano, Faucett; Mary (Jim) Crocker, Kearney, and Rosalie (Dennis) Starke, Clyde; twenty-eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A Parish Rosary is 6:30 pm on Friday, September 16, 2011 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Parnell, Missouri, with visitation following.

A Funeral Mass will be 10 am Saturday, September 17, 2011, at St Joseph Catholic Church, Parnell, with burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Parnell.  

Memorials may be made to St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Parnell, Missouri.
