Robert Jean Clements 88, Barnard, passed from this life Friday, July 15, 2011 at Nodaway Nursing Home after a long battle with cancer.
Bob was born May 29, 1923 at Barnard, Missouri to the late Forrest and Grace Cannady Clements, of Barnard and was a graduate of Barnard High School, Barnard, Missouri.
He served in WWII as a Sergeant with Company C, 315th Combat Engineer Battalion with the 90th Infantry Division.
Bob married Estella Ann McGinness, the love of his life on July 13, 1949 and they spent 54 years together before her death in May 2004.
Throughout his life he enjoyed farming and raising cattle. After a long career with MODOT he retired in 1982.
He and Estella spent time traveling and he also spent many hours restoring John Deere tractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; siblings; sisters Berniece Rasco, Dorthea Purviance and infants Irene, and Pauline, brothers Cecil, Donald, Hubert, Ted, Billy and infant John. He is survived by children, Bruce (Colleen) Clements, Holton, KS, Cathy Bowen, Maryville, Debbie (Bob) Cooper, Maryville, Bob (Sandy) Clements, KC, Missouri and David (Becky) Clements, La Center, WA, a cousin Jerry Clements, Pueblo, CO and many other nieces and nephews.
Bob has 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, from 6-8 PM at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Graveside Services with Full Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 10 AM at the Barnard Masonic Cemetery.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AseraCare Hospice or the Barnard Masonic Cemetery.
