Robert M Collins 85, of  Maryville, Missouri died Wednesday, February 02, 2011at St Francis Hospital, Maryville.

He was born December 19, 1925 in Maryville, Missouri, the son of Francis Albert and Sarah (Grimes) Collins.  Bob was a graduate of Maryville High School, Maryville, Missouri.

He served in the US Navy during WW II.

Bob married Ruthanne Messbarger on September 12, 1953 in Maryville.

He retired in 1994 as a “pipeliner” for Amoco Oil Company after 48 years of service.

Bob was a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, the Elks Lodge and James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, all of Maryville.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruthanne (2002) his parents; brothers: Ed, Jim and Ralph Collins and sister: Katherine Winger.

Survivors include his sons:  Dan (Mary) Collins, Ravenwood, Missouri and David Collins, Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren: Bo, Maggie and Malia Collins, Ravenwood and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is anytime at Price Funeral Home.  Bob’s body will lie-in-state from 9-10am Saturday at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Saturday, February 5, 2011, at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, Missouri with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Military Services will be conducted at graveside under the direction of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100.

Memorials may be made to the Robert Collins Memorial Fund.
