Charles Gregory Auffert, 70, of Parnell, Missouri, died Monday, December 20, 2010, at Village Care Center, Maryville, Missouri.

He was born May 20, 1940 in Parnell, Missouri, the son of   John Joseph and Rachel Marie (Hovenkotter) Auffert.   A 1958 graduate of Northeast Nodaway High School, he married Donna

Kay Stutesman on June 30, 1958 in Parnell.

A farmer, Charles was a member of St Joseph’s Parish, Parnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leo Raymond Auffert.

He is survived by his wife: Donna Auffert, of their home in rural Parnell; their children:  

David Auffert and Steven Auffert, Parnell; Linda Coleman, Burlington Junction, Missouri; Mary Auffert, Maryville and Susan  (Mike) Bagby, Corning, Iowa; eleven  grandchildren;  three great-grandchildren; a brother:  Philip Auffert, Parnell and sister: Sr. Mary Ellen Auffert, OSB, in Nebraska..

Visitation is 6-7 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Parnell, Missouri with a Parish Prayer service at 7pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday, December 23, 2010 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, with burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Parnell, Missouri.
