Helen Margaret Bailey, 84 of Maryville, Missouri, (formerly of Ravenwood, Missouri) died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Missouri.

Helen was born January 25, 1926 in East Chicago Indiana, the daughter of Alexander P. and Martha Margaret (Metz) Balkovsky.

A homemaker, she married Carmie James Bailey, March 10, 1950 in St Louis, Missouri.                              

Helen was preceded in death by her husband: Carmie Bailey, on November 18, 1990; a son: Carl Lee Bailey; her parents and brothers: Alexander Balkovsky, Bill McCarthy and James McCarthy; one sister Marie Woolsey; grandchildren Justin and April Townsend.

Survivors include a son, Gene Bailey, St. Joseph, Missouri; her daughters, Brenda Blackmon, Ravenwood, Missouri and Karen Sickels, Bedford, Iowa; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Wednesday, August 25, 6:00-8:00 PM at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

Graveside Services and Burial were Thursday, August 26, at 10:00 AM at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, Missouri.
