Josephine (Jo) Hazel Cook, 69, Maryville MO, passed away August 14, 2010, at home surrounded by her family.
Born February 7, 1941, in Afton IA, Josephine was the daughter of the late David LeRoy and Hazel Ross of Shannon City, IA. She was preceded in death by her sister Gertrude Jennings and brother David Ross.
Josephine is survived by her husband Gary L. Cook, Maryville; daughters Julie Andrews, Van Alstyne TX and Jeanette Collin, Maitland MO; brother Richard Ross, Shannon City IA, as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Josephine was a graduate of the inaugural class of LPN nursing in 1969, from Northwest Missouri State College. She proceeded to achieve her RN degree from Missouri Western State College, a BS degree in Nursing and a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. Josephine worked for several years for Dr. Robert Dunshee, Maryville, as well as St. Francis Hospital, finishing her nursing career at Parkdale Manor Care Center in 2002.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 17th at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm at Price's on Monday, the 16th.
Burial will be in the Hopkins, MO Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of SSM Hospice at St. Francis Hospital for the care and compassion the last days of Josephine's life.

Located approximately 45 minutes North of St. Joseph, Missouri, via Interstate 29 North to US 71 North (Exit 56A), Price Funeral Home is located at the corner of First and Market in Maryville, Missouri.
Coming from the South: Stay on US 71 North (1st stop light) to the intersection of MO 46 & US 71/136 Highways (2nd Stop Light). At the light turn left onto MO 46 West, continue going straight West 14 blocks. Turn left on Market, and the funeral home parking lots (upper and lower levels) are to the left.
Coming from the North: Stay on US 71/136 South (1st stop light) to the intersection of MO 46/US136. Merge right onto MO 46 West, continue straight on First Street traveling 14 blocks to Market (turn left), and the parking lots are on the east side of Market Street.
Coming from the East: Stay on MO46/US136 West (1st stop light), continue straight on First Street to the intersection of Market Street. Turn left and the parking lots are on the left.
Coming from the West: Stay on MO46 East (First Street), continue on through 1st stop light (First and Main), go one block East, turn right on Market, and parking is on the left.
