Robert Dean Smith, 77, Ravenwood, Missouri, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Golden Living Center, Maryville, Missouri.
Robert was born in Leon, Iowa December 27, 1932, to James Leslie and Gladys Leone Myers Smith.
He married his first wife, Yvonne Thrane in January of 1953. They were later divorced. He later married Lois Ethel Allen Archer December 24, 1969, in Maryville.
He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Korea.
Robert was a member of the Tri-C American Legion Post #464, Conception Jct., Missouri.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Lois (May 18, 1998); two brothers: Raymond and James Smith and sister Frances Carson.
Survivors include three sons: Robert D. Smith, Jr., Cottonwood, CA, Howard Smith, Muscle Shoals, AL, Chris Smith, Beatrice, NE; three daughters: Pam Danielson, Creston, IA, Leona Moore, Lyford, TX; and Lora Thompson, Tecumseh, NE ; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Karen George, Corydon, IA and Evelyn Palmer, Leon, IA; brother-in-law Don Carson, Osceola, IA; sister-in-law Hazel Smith, Decator, Iowa and special friends: Jessie and Mary Gray, Ravenwood, MO and Daisy Mae Williams, Parnell, MO.
Visitation is 6:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, July 26, 2010, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri with burial in Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to SSM Hospice of Northwest Missouri.

Located approximately 45 minutes North of St. Joseph, Missouri, via Interstate 29 North to US 71 North (Exit 56A), Price Funeral Home is located at the corner of First and Market in Maryville, Missouri.
Coming from the South: Stay on US 71 North (1st stop light) to the intersection of MO 46 & US 71/136 Highways (2nd Stop Light). At the light turn left onto MO 46 West, continue going straight West 14 blocks. Turn left on Market, and the funeral home parking lots (upper and lower levels) are to the left.
Coming from the North: Stay on US 71/136 South (1st stop light) to the intersection of MO 46/US136. Merge right onto MO 46 West, continue straight on First Street traveling 14 blocks to Market (turn left), and the parking lots are on the east side of Market Street.
Coming from the East: Stay on MO46/US136 West (1st stop light), continue straight on First Street to the intersection of Market Street. Turn left and the parking lots are on the left.
Coming from the West: Stay on MO46 East (First Street), continue on through 1st stop light (First and Main), go one block East, turn right on Market, and parking is on the left.
