Mary Lavina Tompkins, 99, Maryville, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville.

Mary was born September 7, 1912, at Barnard, Missouri, to Benjamin F. and Etta Belle Bare Tompkins.

A graduate of Barnard High School, she was a Tax Collector for White Cloud Township, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #102, was a member of the Church of Christ, and was a member of the Garden Club and the Historical Society, Barnard, Missouri.

Preceding in death were her parents, brothers Glenn (Lillie)Tompkins, Bill (Florine)Tompkins, John (Mary)Tompkins, Orville (Ethyl)Tompkins, Everet (Lucille) Tompkins, Raymond (Joan)Tompkins, and Benjamin Tompkins, and sistersThelma (Harold) Dougan, Lula (Lloyd) Dougan and Maxine (Charles) Sexson.

Survivors are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 2, at the Masonic Cemetery, Barnard, Missouri.

Visitation is open and friends may visit at the funeral home at their convenience.

Memorials may be made to the Barnard Historical Society.
