Gerald H. Scott, 83, beloved Father, Son, Brother and Friend passed on May 20, 2012, at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Maryville, MO October 7, 1928 to Charles Dewey (Dude) Scott and Alice Harkness Scott, the oldest of three sons. He was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, William Scott of Independence, MO and Carroll Eugene (Gene) Scott of Council Bluffs, IA, and stepson Larry D. Killebrew of Council Bluffs, IA.. Gerald was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served in the infantry. Upon discharge from the army, he began a career with the Standard Oil Company at their pipeline storage station in Council Bluffs, IA. He was joined in marriage to Sherly Killebrew in 1959. In 1965 a daughter, Lori J. Scott, was born to that union. Gerald left Standard Oil after working there for 20 years to become a service station operator for a time in Council Bluffs, IA. After relocating to Maryville, MO in 1973, Gerald worked for the Laclede Chain Company for a short time, followed by Northwest Missouri State University, and ultimately NEBS Printing Company until his retirement in 1990.He was a member of several fraternal organizations including the Elks and the Eagles and was very active in American Legion Post number 100 in Maryville, MO.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Sherly Scott of Alton, TX, daughter, Lori J. Scott and her friend Victor Berrones of San Antonio, TX, step-daughter Linda Killebrew and her spouse Steve Straub of McAllen TX, grandsons Kevin Herzog of Nebraska City, NE, Robert Herzog of Longwood, FL, and Anthony Straub of McAllen, TX, granddaughters Sherry Mandl and her friend Richard Lamitie of Eustis, FL, Danielle Straub of Alton, TX, and Alisha Straub of McAllen, TX, great-grandsons Parker and Lanny Herzog of Nebraska City, NE, great-granddaughters Megan and Samantha Herzog of Longwood, FL, Lillian and Khloe Herzog of Nebraska City, NE, Kristen Kennedy of Orlando, FL, and Jennifer Mandl of Eustis, FL and one great-great grandson, Damien Santo-Romero of Orlando, FL, three nephews, three nieces, and a multitude of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Price Funeral Home, 120 East First Street Maryville, MO 64468. Interment will follow at Miriam Cemetery.

Military Services will be conducted at Graveside by the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100 of Maryville, Missouri.
