Christina Lea O'Connell, 79, Maryville, Missouri, died Friday, December 23, 2011,  at her home.

She was born August 16, 1932, in Maryville to Raymond "Jim"  and Leona Jane Hall Thompson. 

She was a graduate of Maryville High School.  Chris was a retired secretary at Eugene Field Elementary School, Maryville.

She married Dennis J. "Buck"  O'Connell on Friday, January 31, 1969, in Maryville,

Christina  was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville Optimist Club, and also attended St. Gregory Catholic Church all of Maryville .

Preceding in death: her husband Dennis "Buck" O'Connell and an infant brother Jackie Ray Thompson.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tara (Cris) Wilmes, Maryville,  Mother Leona Thompson, Maryville; granddaughters Ashtyn, Jessica and Lori, grandsons Ben, Dustyn, Tierry, Blaytyn and Scooter Wilmes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville from 5-6:30 PM Monday, December 26, followed by a prayer service.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at St. Gregory's,  with burial in St Patrick's Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to Maryville Optimist Scholarship Fund and Chris O'Connell Memorial Fund in Christina's  name.
