Virginia Rose "Gabby" McGinnis, 92, Maryville, Missouri, died Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.

Gabby was born January 15, 1919, in Pickering, Missouri to William Edward and Edith Jones Bosch. She was a graduate of Maryville High School and also received her teaching certificate from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College.

She married James "Denton" McGinnis August 4, 1940, in Maryville.

After teaching school at Eugene Field Elementary School, St. Joseph and rural schools in Nodaway County, Gabby became an avid antique collector. She was actively involved with her husband in the Denton McGinnis Auctioneering and Real Estate business for many years.

A member of the First Christian Church, Maryville, she was a former member of the Maryville Garden Club and loved playing bridge with her friends.

Gabby was preceded in death by her parents, husband Denton McGinnis (August 4, 1993); daughter Nancy Thacker (August 21, 2006); brother Bill Bosch; sister Betty Toay and great-grandson Anthony Gumm.

Survivors include her three grandchildren: Tammi Gumm, St. Joseph, Missouri, Todd (Janie) Thacker, Maryville and Toby (Monica) Thacker, Green Ridge, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren: Natasha, Nathan, Megan, and Kristen Thacker; Jackie and Geordon Gumm and Ryan Ellison; sister Patty Bixler, Maryville and several nieces and nephews..

Visitation is 6:30-8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at the First Christian Church, Maryville, Missouri.

The Funeral Service is 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the First Christian Church, Maryville, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.
