Mary Lou Schieber, 71, of Maryville, Missouri (formerly of Conception Junction, Missouri) passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at St Francis Hospital, Maryville.

Mary Lou was born November 7, 1939 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Paul and Anna Lucille (Hill) Cicewski.  She graduated from Mount Saint Scholastica Academy in Atchison and she received her RN degree from Sisters Hospital School of Nursing in St Joseph, Missouri. Mary Lou worked there several years after graduation, becoming a Nursing Supervisor of the 3-11pm shift. 

While at Sister’s Hospital she met Lawrence Joseph “Butch” Schieber.  They were married on July 19, 1969 in Atchison, Kansas and moved to his farm in the Conception Community.

Mary Lou began working at the Conception Abbey Infirmary, Conception, Missouri.  In her seventeen years of service there, she became the Director of Health Services for Conception Abbey and Conception Seminary College.  She was also homemaker and a member of St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community Maryville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.   

Survivors include her husband, Butch Schieber, of their home in Maryville; sons: Lawrence JR and his wife, Jennifer, Maryville; Michael Schieber, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; sisters: Sharon (Jim) Cicewski Smith, St. Joseph, Missouri; Janet (Dean) Cicewski Hall, Atchison, Kansas; Paulette (Bob) Cicewski Rettele, Meridan, Kansas; Delores (Bob) Cicewski Scherer, Lancaster, Kansas and Karen (Dale) Cicewski Hebert, Kansas City, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

A 4 pm Family and Parish Rosary is Sunday, October 9, 2011 at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, Missouri with visitation to follow until 6pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Monday, October 10, 2011 at St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville with burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Maryville.

Memorials may be given to St Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Community, 333 South Davis Street, Maryville, Missouri 64468.
